Electrical and Computer Engineering

What we do

The Networking Group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Canterbury, is led by Professor Harsha Sirisena. We have close ties with the Networks and Simulation group in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering led by Professor Krys Pawlikowski. We also collaborate with Networks Research Laboratory at the University of New South Wales led by Assoc Prof Mahbub Hassan.

Our research covers many different aspects of telecommunications networking. We have projects on Active Networks, Enhancing TCP Performance on both Wireline and Mobile Wireless Networks, Fast Mobility and Admission Control Mechanisms  in Multimedia Cellular IP Networks, IPv4-to-IPv6 Transition Mechanisms, Control-Theoretic Approaches to Self-Similar Traffic Management, Ad Hoc Wireless Networks, Differentiated Services IP Networks and Quality of Service Routing.
