Use of Calculators in Tests and Examinations

The University has initiated a process of checking student calculators and attaching a sticker to those which are approved. Students can then use their own calculator in tests and examinations. At the beginning of an examination the room supervisor(s) will check both the sticker and that it is attached to the correct style of calculator.

We will notify you when we are advised of how and where you can have your calculator approved in 2011.

Examiners (those setting tests or examinations) will advise students what type of calculator is allowed for each subject.

The Department has a supply of approved calculators which can be booked by contacting Irene Chang, Undergraduate Administrator. It is recommended that you allow sufficient time to become familiar with the Department calculator before your test or examination.
